THE JOHN BUCHAN STORY Peebles, Scottish Borders
SCOTTISH CHARITY NUMBER SC042519
April 1920 - Views of London
We have a few pictures which were originally produced in sepia colouring which we have tried to enhance with a view to identifying the content more accurately. We have not been able to ascertain where the shots were taken from.
We believe this picture shows Church House, Big Ben and St Stephen’s Tower of the Palace of Westminster in the centre. It may have been taken from north of Victoria.
A picture of the Victoria Monument in front of Buckingham Palace.
Big Ben in the centre with St Stephen’s Tower on the right
Looking towards the Thames west of Westminster
Perhaps Brompton Road looking north towards Hyde Park
Hyde Park Corner and Apsley House which belonged to the Duke of Wellington a connection of Mrs Susan Buchan. The building to the right was demolished to make way for Park Lane.
